LNG Pretreatment MarketLiquefied natural gas (LNG) is rapidly growing in commercial interest. Before natural gas can be liquefied components that freeze at LNG temperatures, such as CO2 and water, must be removed to very low levels. The Molecular Gate Technology removes CO2 to levels typically below 50 ppm as required by liquefiers and removes water to less than 1 ppm in a single step.
Processing Steps for LNG PretreatmentIn LNG pretreatment the feed gas at 50 – 500 psig is introduced to the Molecular Gate system where CO2 and water is adsorbed on the adsorbent while high recovery rates of methane are achieved. The rejected tail gas contains the CO2 and water and any lost hydrocarbons and is commonly used as fuel.
