Hydrocarbon Dew Point Control and Systems to Meet CARB Specifications |
|||
Heavy Hydrocarbon Removal from Natural GasThe removal of heavy hydrocarbons from natural gas can be accomplished by the Guild Associates adsorption-based systems for dew point control where heavy hydrocarbons (typically C5+) are adsorbed on a bed of adsorbent and then subsequently removed using either pressure swings (PSA) or through heating of the adsorbent bed (TSA). CARB standards for natural gas can require the removal of heavy hydrocarbons as well as limiting the level of C2 and C3+ components and Guild Associates offers pressure swing adsorption systems for this application as well.
Processing StepsIn the PSA based system natural gas enters the bed of adsorbent where heavy hydrocarbons are removed and pipeline quality natural gas is available at near feed pressure. Once the bed of adsorbent is saturated it is depressurized and the heavy hydrocarbons leave the systems at low pressure.In the TSA based system the heavy hydrocarbons are adsorbed and removed. Subsequently the bed is heated to 300 – 500 Deg F and the heavy hydrocarbons are released. |
