Adsorption Systems for the Purification of Helium
Guild Associates is a leading provider of adsorption systems for the purification of natural gas and other gas streams. This technology is built upon the Molecular Gate Adsorbent Technology and incorporates PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) systems for gas purification.
Guild offers PSA systems for the purification of helium where impurities of hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon dioxide are removed and a high purity helium product of typically 99.999+ percent is produced. These packaged modular units are fabricated by Guild and custom designed for a range of flow rates and operating conditions.
In general, the high value of helium can make such projects attractive while a reasonable flow rate of contained helium is required for an economic project. Guild’s technology can upgrade low quality helium with concentrations as low as 2% through multi-stage processing or more typically, single-stage units for higher helium concentrations. In either case a high purity helium product is delivered.
Typical feed sources are helium containing natural gas streams, helium enriched natural gas downstream of pretreatment facilities, cryogenic system generated raw helium streams and helium lost in vent streams from industrial applications.
The engineers at Guild Associates have been involved with the design and supply of many helium purification systems treating cumulative gas flow rates of over 5 MM SCFD.
Guild also offers adsorption-based systems for nitrogen rejection, CO2 removal, dehydration, heavy hydrocarbon removal and dew point control.
